Book Review

Have you ever read a book that you can’t stop thinking about long after it’s done? Yeah, me too!

“Firefly Lane” by Kristin Hannah.

Its about a friendship between Kate and Tully; one chooses marriage and motherhood, the other chooses career and a celebrity status. Tully, broadcast journalist, realizes it pretty lonely at the top and Kate’s role as housewife and mother leaves her forgetting what it’s like to be a rebellious teenager, as she has one of her own.

Kate and Tully’s devotion to one another is constantly tested by jealousy; Kate’s husband Johnny is smitten with Tully, Tully’s alcoholic and drug addicted mother, and Tully’s special relationship with Kate’s daughter Mara.

Kristin Hannah leaves you feeling full after you read the last word in this book. It’ll make you laugh, cry, sympathize with both characters, and make you long for the kind of friendship these two women have.

I loved this book so much, I bought several friends a copy and sent my mom one for her birthday. She too, called me the minute she finished the book and told me how much she LOVED it!

If you’re looking for a really good, put your feet up kind of read…this is it.

So, as I always say,

Write On! or in this case, Read On!
